Bar and barber among new locations of interest

UPDATE: 3pm: Two more locations of interest have been added to the Ministry of Health website for the Tauranga area.

The locations include Westpac Tauranga Centre Branch and Kiwi Barber Tauranga.

The Ministry of Health advises anyone who visited Kiwi Barber Tauranga between 12:15pm and 1:45pm on Saturday November 27 to self-isolate, test immediately and then again on day 5 after you were exposed at this location of interest.

For Westpac Tauranga on Cameron Road, MoH asks those who visited the establishment between 12:23 pm - 1:30 pm on Saturday November 27 to self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days after you were exposed.

"If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result."

Earlier: 12:30pm: Ten more locations of interest have been added for the Tauranga area, including three that require immediate testing and isolation.

Those locations are the ground level public computers at Tauranga Library and the City Sports Bar on Hamilton Street.  

Anyone at the computers at the library on Thursday, November 25 from 11.30am-2.30pm or the City Sports Bar on Wednesday, November 24 from 8.45pm to 11.59pm and Thursday from 12am to 1am should self-isolate and test immediately.

You should test again on day five after exposure at this location of interest. Further isolation and testing requirements will be provided by Public Health.

The other locations are as follows.

Z Central Parade on Tuesday, November 24 and Wednesday, November 25 between the hours of 4.45am and 7am on both days; Super Liquor Greerton, on Cameron Road, on Wednesday, November 24 from 7.02pm to 8.30pm; Turkish to Go Greerton on Chadwick Road on Wednesday, November 24 from 7.41pm to 8.45pm; Z Hewletts Road in Mount Maunganui on Thursday, November 25 from 4.45am to 7.15am; the wider Tauranga Library on Thursday, November 25 from 11.30am-2.30pm and Subway 12th Avenue Tauranga on Saturday, November 27 from 12.51pm to 2.15pm.

EARLIER: Countdown Fraser Cove is being named as a location of interest by the Ministry of Health.

According to the Ministry, a person who has tested positive for Covid-19 visited the store on Fraser Street on Thursday, November 25, from 6.52pm to 8.17pm.

People who were at the store at this time are being advised to self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days after they were exposed.

“If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result,” says a MOH spokesperson.

Countdown Fraser Cove is the latest location of interest for the region for this week.

On Wednesday, the Ministry announced three additional locations for the Tauranga region.

These are PAK'nSAVE Cameron Road, Martys Pool Bar in Elizabeth Street, and the Papamoa Sports Tennis Club.
