Serious injuries in SH30 crash

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash on State Highway 30 near Lake Rotoma.

Police were notified of the incident, between Oxford Road and Matahi Road, at around 5.10pm.

“Initial indications are that there are serious injuries,” says a police spokesperson.

The road is closed and the Serious Crash Unit has been advised.

St John confirm they were alerted to a motor vehicle incident at 5.10pm.

Police and Waka Kotahi NZTA are advising motorists to avoid the area if possible or consider an alternative route.

"SH30 is currently closed between SH33 and SH34." says a Waka Kotahi statement. 

Alternative routes of Northbound: SH30, left onto SH33, right onto SH2 right onto SH30 Southbound: SH30, right onto SH2, left onto SH33, left onto SH30, have been advised.

A caller to SUNLIVE says a number of vehicles appear to have been involved in a crash and that fire and ambulance crews are at the scene.

Golly gosh yesterday NZTA were working towards a accident free NZ YEAH RIGHT it will never ever be like that and this proves it,slowing traffic will not stop this, it will cause more problems,(watch this space) look at above wording serious crash,gosh AMBULANCE AND POLICE out 24/7 attending to things like this must make them sick and tired of this BS,NZTA sit in their little tower and schemeing up all this rubbish about saving lives,it WILL NEVER happen,all the modeling is foo har,anyway my pennies worth for what its worth Thankyou Sunlive being no1 in news is AWESOME thankyou,10-4 out. phew.
