Investigations to locate utility services will be carried out at the entrance to Edgecumbe Road from State Highway 2 in Tauranga this week.

Contractors will be hydro-excavating the berm next to the road to inform planning for the Takitimu North Link project, says Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.

"There will be an excavator in use, but noise and vibration will be minimal.

"Work will take place between 9am and 3pm on Wednesday.

"The entrance from SH2 onto Edgecumbe Road will be closed during this time and motorists are asked to follow the road diversions in place on the day."

Visit the Waka Kotahi Journey Planner website (journeys.nzta.govt.nz) before heading out for real-time travel information, traffic cameras, and updates on delays, roadworks and road closures.

"Waka Kotahi thanks motorists for their patience."

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey. Keep up to date with:
