Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard have rescued six people after their waka ama overturned.

At 12pm today the Tauranga Coastguard Radio Room was alerted to a waka ama that had overturned by the Sulphur Point Marina sea wall in the Tauranga harbour, says a post on the Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard Facebook page.

“Luckily all aboard made it safely back to the stone wall and raised the alarm” says the post.
