Man seriously injured in Tauranga

Police are working to figure out how a man ended up with serious injuries in Tauranga overnight.

A police spokesperson says a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries at around 9pm on Sunday.

The incident is reported to have happened on Cameron Road, between 18th and 19th Ave.

“At this stage the circumstances around how he came to be injured are unclear.”

Anyone with information about the incident, and who haven’t already spoken with police, can contact their nearest police station.

Alternatively, information can be called in anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.

Non-emergency information can be phoned into the police’s 105 number.

Is it my imagination...

....or is crime, especially assaults, getting worse and more frequent? It’s about time the Government and Courts started to back our hard working Police up by ensuring criminals are dealt the toughest sentence. Time in prison needs to be made unforgettable (in the toughest manner) so that criminals remember what hell they went though and maybe some of them will say "never again" and change their ways. other than that, not sure what the answer is but something needs looking at.
