Police probe Bethlehem blaze

Police are investigating a large fire in Bethlehem that left two cars damaged and destroyed part of a hedge.

Firefighters were called to the blaze behind the Bethlehem Town Centre on Saturday afternoon.

A police spokesperson says they are “following strong lines of enquiry” after being notified of the hedge fire on Bethlehem Road at 4.13pm.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand confirm they received multiple calls about the fire.

The fire was put out by three fire crews, one from the Bethlehem Town Centre carpark and two fire trucks in the Kempton Park Villa.

FENZ also confirm that police have been notified about the fire but could not comment on any potential cause of investigation at this time.

Get yourself an Electric Vehicle it will save you money they said. Looks like it is another electric fire that started it all judging by the cables hanging out the front of both vehicles and the boxes on the ground.
