SH29A near Tauriko reopens after crash

UPDATED 7.50pm: State Highway 29A between Pyes Pā Road and State Highway 36 has reopened following a crash.

The road has been closed in both directions after a two vehicle crash.

A police spokesperson says, emergency services were alerted to the crash at 6.10pm and a person was receiving medical attention.

EARLIER: State Highway 29A is closed between Pyes Pā Road and the State Highway 36 round about following a crash.

A police spokesperson says, one person is receiving medical attention after a two vehicle crash on SH29A at 6.10pm.

Tauranga City Council says, emergency service are at the scene and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Diversion are in place down SH36.

Council suggests west bound traffic use Pyes Pā Road, Kennedy Road, SH36 to access SH29 in Tauriko.

 

East bound can use the same route in reverse or alternatively Takitmu Drive toll road to get back to Cameron Rd via 15th Avenue.

 

This is the second crash in the same area tonight, a crash at 5.30pm was causing traffic delays.
