Arrests made during transnational police operation

A number of people have been arrested this morning, in relation to a large scale transnational operation targeting organised crime

Those arrested will be appearing in the Auckland District Court and Hamilton District Court today, says a police spokesperson.

“They are facing a wide range of serious drug dealing and money laundering offences.”

 More information will be made available at the 11am media conference where New Zealand Police National Organised Crime Group Director Detective Superintendent Greg Williams will be speaking.

EARLIER: A large scale transnational operation targeting organised crime is underway across the North Island this morning.

A police spokesperson says Police are “in the process of executing a number of search warrants across the North Island” as a part of the operation.

More information will be released later this morning, at a media briefing at 11am in Auckland.

New Zealand Police National Organised Crime Group Director Detective Superintendent Greg Williams will be speaking.
