SH29 resurfacing next week
Motorists are being advised that resurfacing work will take place along State Highway 29 next week.
The work is being carried out along the stretch of road between Soldiers Road and Ngamuwahine Bridge, on the Tauranga side of the Kaimai Range, on Tuesday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 28.
The work will take place overnight, between 6pm and 6am.
The road is expected to be fully open to traffic from 6am on Thursday, April 29.
During these works, Stop/Go traffic management will be in place with a temporary speed limit of 30km/h. Outside of work hours, the site will remain under a temporary speed limit of 50km/h.
“These works are part of the Waka Kotahi road maintenance programme, which will see repairs and reseals on state highways across the Bay of Plenty to ensure the safety and resilience of the state highway network,” says a statement from Waka Kotahi.
“Please take extra care, reduce your speed and follow directions of traffic management staff and signage.”
Work may be postponed in the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Motorists can get the latest information on roadworks, traffic, road closures and detours to help plan your trip by using the interactive Waka Kotahi Journey Planner website at journeys.nzta.govt.nz.
