A person is dead following a farm accident near Tauranga.

Emergency services were called to a farm on State Highway 29, in the Lower Kaimai area, around 7pm.

A police spokesperson says a body was located after a quad bike accident on a farm near Soldiers Road,

Police say the death is being referred to the coroner.
