Armed Offenders Squad in Papamoa, one in custody

One person has been taken into custody following a large Police presence on Dickson Rd, Papamoa, says a Police spokesperson.

"The Armed Offenders Squad is there as a precaution," says the spokesperson.

"At this early stage, we're not in a position to provide any further details about the person taken into custody.

"There are cordons in place in the area."

Police began executing a warrant at an address on Dickson Road at about 4:15pm.
