Armed police called to Otumoetai incident

No injuries are being reported following an armed police callout in the Otumoetai area.

Armed police were seen surrounding a house on Sunday night, a caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline reported.

In a separate incident, four police cars were seen pulling over on to the side of Ngatai Road where a witness reports police then took two people into custody.

“Police responded to a report of an altercation on Ngatai Road around 7.30pm and a subsequent incident on Queen Road, which indications show may be related,” says a police spokesperson.

“Police are currently speaking with one person in relation to the matter, there have been no reported injuries.

“AOS attended as a precaution.”
