Police and the family of the woman who died after falling on Mount Ruapehu on Saturday September 26 have now released her name.


She was 37-year-old Emma Langley, a UK national living in Wellington.


Emma was a Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Social Development. She was with a group of nine climbers when she fell while traversing Cathedral Rocks on September 26.


Local hapū Ngāti Hikairo blessed the site the following morning.


Her family has requested privacy at this time.
