Fire crews have battled a house fire in Omokoroa this morning.

The fire broke out around 6am and it was well involved on arrival, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson says.

FENZ received multiple calls about the fire at the two story house on Vivian Drive, he says.

“The bottom area of the garage was well involved”

One high pressure and one low pressure unit as well as two support vehicles attended the fire and crews were there for over an hour putting it out, he says.

People were home at the time but got out safely, says the spokesperson.

A fire investigator has been sent to the scene to determine the cause, he says.
