The police are renewing their warning that action will be taken against people breaching the lockdown regulations by attending parties

685 reports were filed in the 24 hours from 6pm on Friday about breaches of the alert level three restrictions.

Enforcement action was taken against 112 people.

The Acting Assistant Commissioner Scott Fraser says there have been 1200 reports of breaches since level three came into force.

Action has been taken against 514 people under the Health or Civil Defence Emergency Act, resulting in 135 prosecutions and 342 warnings.

Fraser says attending parties could waste all the sacrifices made over the past five weeks.

As GWHtpt said on Saturday, level 3 is over. I don’t think it ever began in reality. People everywhere are totally ignoring the rules, the law. There needs to be 100% prosecution and no more warnings - no more wet bus ticket ’educating’. The rules are the rules - they are law. Enforcement is required not ’education’. We’re talking about people’s lives.
