Back to school, without the rush
Alert Level 3 is seeing a quiet start to term two, with only 32 students taking the bus to school today.
Therefore, just 13 busses will do the school run for 14 schools Tauranga-wide.
Bay of Plenty Regional Council Toi Moana communications team leader Matt Hunt says 24 students registered to use dedicated school services, and a further eight registered to use urban Bayhopper services.
This is the first day schools have been open since late last month, as the country moved into lockdown at Alert Level 4.
For the duration of Alert Level 3, only students up to Year 10 who are unable to study from home, such as children of essential workers, will attend.
All other students will continue distance learning from home.
