A man is facing driving related charges following a police pursuit in the Bay of Plenty earlier today.

At 8.50am, officers observed a vehicle being driven dangerously along State Highway 2 and signalled it to stop.

The vehicle failed to stop and fled, says a police spokesperson.

"Police followed the vehicle some distance before it ended being driven through an orchard on SH2.

"One person has been taken into custody without further incident."

A 31-year-old man has been charged with various driving offences.

He is due to appear in Tauranga District Court on Monday, April 20.

Posted on 14-04-2020 18:19 | By Sandyshirl

Pleased Sunlive keeps us up to date as the NZ Police Ap is way out of date. The last post on their Ap for BOP was on the 8th April. Shame as I thought their Ap as least would keep up to date. Thanks SUNLIVE
