Tauranga City Libraries aren’t letting the lockdown hit pause on their programming – in fact, they’re embracing life in the bubble.

Many of their regular activities and groups have been adapted for people to enjoy from home via two free online publications, Bubble Life and Bubble Life Junior.

Updated with new content every Friday, each Bubble Life edition contains something for everyone, a library spokesperson says.

“From short clips featuring your librarians reading stories, creating crafts and recipes, and posing LEGO building challenges, to virtual “classrooms” where you can learn coding or brush up on your creative writing skills.

“There’re suggestions for great podcasts, websites, apps, and even a ‘kupu of the week’.

“Those looking for digital help and guidance will find expertise from the libraries digital specialists.

“Plus, families don’t have to miss out on the stories, songs and fun of our ever-popular Toddler Times, now live-streamed on the Tauranga City Libraries Facebook page each Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30am.”

“Coming up with a way to continue to connect with their users was a momentary challenge, but the Tauranga City Libraries programming team are hoping they’ve cracked it.

“More than 1000 people tuned into their first live-streamed Toddler Time, so they might just be on to a winner.”
