Police make arrest in Papamoa

Police arrested a man at a property in Papamoa on Friday night.

Police were observed at the Domain Rd address around 7.40pm, with Police cars parked along the verge of the road and in front of a property nearby.

“The person who was being sought by Police initially resisted arrest but was taken into custody without further issue around 8pm,” says a Police spokesperson.

“A 23-year-old man has been charged with Assaults Police, Threatening to Kill and Possession of an Offensive Weapon, and has been remanded in custody to appear in Tauranga District Court on 12 March. No Police officers were injured.”
