New buoy to be installed off Bowentown
In the next couple of weeks a new wave buoy will be installed by Bay of Plenty Regional Council’s maritime team off Bowentown.
“The buoy will be a valuable tool for both recreational and commercial boat operators giving near real-time reporting of sea conditions,” says a post of the council’s Facebook page.
The wave buoy will be positioned four nautical miles off Bowentown.
“The buoy is the same model that sits off Pukehina and will provide wave and water temperature data.”
