Members of the Bay of Plenty Armed Offenders Squad will be conducting a training exercise in Bethlehem this afternoon.

At the completion of school, the training exercise will be held at Bethlehem College.

“Members of the public may see a number of AOS staff in the area between 4-6pm,” says the Bay of Plenty and Taupo Police Facebook page.

“BOP Police would like to thank Bethlehem College and the community for allowing us to train at their venue.”

The AOS training today is just one day out of four training days taking place this week.

The four-day training camp will include exercises held at locations throughout the Western Bay.

“During this time, we would like to reassure members of the public that they should not be alarmed if they notice members of the AOS working in the area at various locations.

“Steps have been taken to reduce noise and risk, and we anticipate the impact to members of the public will be minimal.

“Training is an essential part of the teams preparedness and we thank you for understanding. If there are concerns, please contact Senior Sergeant Logan Marsh of the WBOP Police at lmh432@police.govt.nz."
