Man to appear in court after family harm incident

UPDATED 1.43PM: A 37-year-old man has been arrested following a family harm incident in Tauranga.

Members of the public contacted SunLive this morning about a large police presence in the Tauranga suburb of Judea.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says they have seen multiple police cars head along Robins Road.

“At least two cop cars have gone down the road.

“They are laying out cones as well.”

A message to the SunLive Facebook page also comments about the police presence in the area.

“I have seen about 10 police cars go down there.”

A police spokesperson says the large police presence was due to locate a man in relation to a family harm incident from overnight.

“A 37-year-old male will appear in Tauranga District Court on Friday August 2.”
