Whitianga road improvements rescheduled
Roading improvement work to repair and improve parts of Joan Gaskell Drive in Whitianga was scheduled to start this Sunday evening, however has been rescheduled due to the wet weather.
At this stage the contactor, Broadspectrum, expects work will now begin on Tuesday, April 2 and will take a couple of weeks to complete.
This work is weather dependent as placing a good quality surface on the road requires dry conditions, says Thames-Coromandel District Council Infrastructure Group Manager Bruce Hinson.
“Roading construction in urban areas are challenging and will inevitably cause localised inconvenience.
“This work has been planned to try and minimise that as much as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you in advance for your understanding and patience.”
