What’s on – rain, hail or shine

The Waipuna Hospice Super Hero Walk is taking place today, starting at Coronation park.

Welcome to Sunday, SunLive readers. Today is the perfect day to take part in some community activities, whether it’s indoors or outdoors.

Make sure you pack a brolly or rain jacket if you’re heading out today, Tauranga residents. From 10.00am, rain will set in and last throughout the duration of the day.

Despite the constant drizzles, it will still be warm, with a high of 23 degrees and an overnight temperature of 19 degrees. There is a chance of a morning thunderstorm, so stay in bed a little longer to avoid the chaos.

For those who are willing to brave the weather, the Waipuna Hospice Super Hero Walk is taking place to honour, remember or celebrate a hero in your life. Participants are encouraged to dress up in the superhero theme.

The walk kicks off at Coronation Park at 10.00am, and tickets can be purchased here. While taking part in the fun event, funds will be raised for Waipuna Hospice to help one in three people in the community who need hospice services.

The final day of the Gincredible event is among us, and tickets are still available so get in quick! The Historic Village hosted event is happening rain, hail or shine, so pack your wet weather gear and get amongst the artisan gin, entertainment and food.

The event is R18 and more information can be found here.
