New college bus route for Maungatapu students

Bay of Plenty Regional Council have announced via their Facebook page that a school dedicated bus service will run from Maungatapu to Tauranga Boys’ and Girls’ Colleges.

This new service will begin on Monday March 4.

The council post reads “A school dedicated bus service from Maungatapu to Tauranga Boys' and Girls' Colleges starts this coming Monday morning: 4th March. It will be known as route 805 and will run free of charge for the first week, while we sort out ticket machines.”

The new School Route 805 will leave at 7.40am from Te Hono St, with stops at Maihi Cr.(fronting No 17), Te Hono St/Te Wati St cnr, Maungatapu Shopping Centre, Maungatapu Rd (fronting No 207), Maungatapu Rd (fronting No117), Tauranga Boys’ College, and Tauranga Girls’ College.

In the afternoon, the return trip will leave Tauranga Boy’s College in 13th Ave at 3.15pm, before stopping at Tauranga Girls’ College Bus Bay at 3.30pm, then Maungatapu Rd opposite no 171, Maungatapu Rd/Anchorage Dr, Maungatapu Rd fronting No 246, Maungatapu Rd fronting No 298, Te Hono St fronting No 103, Maihi Cr fronting No 17, Te Hono St/Te Wahi St cnr, and Maungatapu Shopping Centre.

The Bayhopper school network is a dedicated school bus network for Tauranga. Only primary, intermediate and college students can travel on the Bayhopper School routes. Route 805 is an additional route added to this network.

Bayhopper School is managed by Bay of Plenty Regional Council who also manage the Bayhopper network.
