Kia ora and morena Sunners, and welcome to your Sunday, where there's lots of great activities to participate in or be entertained by.

We’re heading into autumn, and although you may need an extra layer on early or later this evening, it’s a beautiful fine day ahead with some light winds and afternoon sea breezes.

The temperature is expected to reach a high of 27 degrees today, with the next four days also forecast to be sunny. For those wondering when the garden is going to receive a fresh sprinkling of rain, there should be some drizzle later in the week, arriving Thursday..

This morning the Majestic Princess sailed into Tauranga harbour at 6am, and is expected to depart at 5.15pm this evening. At a tonnage of 144,216, this cruise ship is one of the largest to visit our port, and will make quite a sight as it leaves later today.

There’s some exciting events on today, providing plenty to do and see.

The Great K Valley Adventure Race

If you have a bicycle, head on down to Kopurererua Valley at the bottom of 17th Ave in Tauranga at 10am for The Great K Valley Adventure Race. Not a race exactly - think scavenger hunt, mountain biking, map reading and puzzle solving, by bike! This event combines the best of all disciplines to locate clues and points hidden in ‘K Valley’, and solve an overall puzzle. This year there are two course options  - the short, family-friendly 10km course suitable for all ages; and the 25km adventure course suited to secondary students, adults and super fit family groups. For more information check out the Facebook event

Join in the sack races, tug of wars and musical bean bags. Also check out the solar powered stage and tiny homes - including an open home. The fair runs from 9am to 5pm. More on that here.
