Temperatures rise as heatwave continues in BOP
It is set to be another hot and sunny day in the Bay of Plenty today as the heatwave continues to travel over New Zealand.
Health warnings have be issued, reminding the public to stay inside and to drink lots of water.
Already around the Bay of Plenty, temperatures are reaching 27 degrees.
The high is forecasted for 28 degrees and an overnight low of 20 degrees but some places may get hotter.
Metservice says there will be some sea breezes about but unless you are in the shade you indoors they won’t keep you cool for long.
According to WeatherWatch’s live temperature observations, temperatures around Tauranga, the Western Bay and Mount Maunganui are all different.
At 10.18am it was 31 degrees at Omokoroa, 25 degrees at Mount Maunganui, 28 degrees at Welcome Bay, 24 degrees at Papamoa and 30 degrees at Pukehina.
