Man attacked with bat in BOP armed robbery

Bay of Plenty Police are investigating an aggravated robbery in Reporoa in which firearms and other items were stolen.

Police received a report early Monday, that around 2.45am a man had been hit across the body with a baseball bat and threatened with a firearm by three men at a rural property.

The victim sustained a minor injury which did not require medical attention, says Detective Chris Nairn

Other firearms, ammunition, and electronic items including mobile phones were stolen from the property, before the offenders left in a vehicle.

"Initial indications suggest this property may have been targeted.

"Police are investigating further the circumstances of what happened and would welcome any information from the public"
