Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

Police are continuing to investigate a crash which has left a motorcyclist in serious condition in Tauranga Hospital.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Maketu Road, near the Tauranga Eastern Link, around 3.30pm on Sunday.

A police spokesperson says a “male motorcyclist was reportedly in a serious condition last night”.

The road was closed for several hours, while the serious crash unit investigated the scene.

People with information about the crash can contact Tauranga Police Station on 07 577 4300.
