A fundraiser in Tauranga tonight is set to help build the potential of talented youth in the region.

The fundraiser will see the Beatgirls perform in a night of fun and entertainment at the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club.

Otumoetai Rotary youth committee director Carmen Goodwin says it's all for a good cause.

“We want to support more young people in the community,” says Carmen, “so we're raising money to be able to do that through our programs.”

As well as facilitating Rotary's national youth programmes, she says the Otumoetai club also has their own through many local scholarships.

“We support scholarships in the local area including one at Otumoetai Intermediate School amongst others.”

The night features live and silent auctions with amazing prizes to be won. Doors open from 7pm.
