Police are making enquiries into an alleged assault on Hamilton Street which sent a 19-year-old man to hospital with minor injuries.

A police media spokesperson says the incident was reported at about 12.30am on Saturday.

“A man had allegedly been assaulted and was taken to hospital for his injuries which were not life threatening.

“Police continue to investigate and no one has been arrested at this stage.”

The incident is followed by another disorder which happened in the same area on Tuesday night.

“Police received reports about a group of up to 10 people fighting at about 7.30pm.

“The fight was broken up by police and no injuries were reported at the time.”

Police could not confirm the two incidents were related.
