Mount homes without power

Around 200 homes are without electricity, some still cut off after storms affected power supplies.

This morning 65 Powerco customers in Mount Maunganui, who have been without power since Saturday, were waiting for their supply to be restored.

Powerco hopes to have powr restored to Mount Maunganui homes around midday.

Storm damage initially left 9000 homes in the Tauranga, Thames Valley and Coromandel areas without electricity.

About 50 customers in Taihape are also without electricity.
