Car plunges over cliff in Marokopa

A car has plunged over a cliff in Marokopa, in the Waitomo district.

Police were notified at around 11.30am that a car had gone off a cliff and travelled some distance.

The occupants of the car are now out and being attended to by medical personnel.

A rescue helicopter that was en route to the scene has been stood down.

There are no details regarding any injuries as yet.
