Cloudy patches and light rain

Today's forecast will see often cloudy patches, with occasional light rain until evening. 

It's a two-clothing layer day today with a high of 20 and an overnight low of 12 degrees. 

High tide is at 1pm, low tide at 7.10pm, and sunset is at 6.01pm 

This day in NZ history in 1938 the Social Security Act was passed.


 

This government welfare programme overhauled the pension system and extended benefits for families, invalids and the unemployed.
