Diesel spill on State Highway 2

Emergency services are currently responding to a diesel spill on State Highway 2.

The spill has been reported at the intersection of Omokoroa Road and State Highway 2.

A fire service spokesperson says they were called at 9.10am to the incident, which is being attended by a single fire crew from Omokoroa.

A police spokesperson says they were requested at 9.35am by the fire service to assist with traffic control in the area.

She could not say whether any lanes were closed, but that ‘a couple' of calls had come in from drivers whose vehicles had slid on the spill.
