Pedestrian struck on busy city street

UPDATED: An elderly woman has been transported to Tauranga Hospital after being struck by a car on Second Ave this afternoon. 

A Police media spokesperson confirmed that one vehicle hit the pedestrian next to the carpark of Noel Leeming. 

The accident occurred just before 12pm. 

An ambulance transported the woman to Tauranga Hospital with moderate injuries. 

Police say that the pedestrian suffered possible injuries to the head.

The accident occurred near Noel Leeming just before 12pm.

Emergency services were called to the scene, with ambulance staff attending to the woman on site.
