Police identify Kim Richmond’s body

Kim Richmond went missing from the Waikato on July 31, 2016.

Police have identified the body of a woman who was found in a ute in a Waikato lake.

The remains found inside the Ford Ranger ute, which was recovered from Lake Arapuni on Thursday, are that of missing Arohena woman Kim Richmond.

“The identification was confirmed late yesterday,” says Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Patterson.

“Work will commence to confirm cause of death.

“The investigation team will continue to make enquiries in relation to Ms Richmond's disappearance on 31 July 2016.”
