The annual One Love Concert is growing in popularity every year.

The first tranche of VIP tickets for One Love 2018 sold out in minutes last night, with 10,000 earlybird tickets taking about two hours to sell.

“The VIP tickets sold out straight away, like in three minutes or something,” says promoter Pato Alvarez speaking to SunLive today.

“Last year we sold out the VIPs two weeks before the event.”

They sold 10,000 general admission tickets in a couple of hours.

“That was crazy as well. We expected the whole event would sell out by November. Yesterday, it just went crazy.

“We're very happy with how it went we sell like five times faster than last year and last year was really good.”

The ticket sale started at 7pm Thursday with the reduced early bird price. There is a second release on August 1, to coincide with the second line up release.

The first line-up announcement also features the best homegrown Kiwi talent and includes House of Shem, 1814, Sons Of Zion, Sammy J, Ardijah, Herbs, Swiss, Foundation, and the Marley New Zealand All Stars.

Presented by Pato Entertainment, it's also been confirmed the 2018 edition of One Love will take place at the Tauranga Domain on Auckland Anniversary weekend, January 27-28, instead of Waitangi Weekend as in previous years.
