Crashes reported in Tauranga and Te Puke

UPDATED 10.45AM: A crash on Hewletts Road earlier this morning caused no injuries.

Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager Senior Sergeant Ian Campion says the two-vehicle accident occurred at around 8.45am.

"A heavy vehicle was changing lanes when it collided with a car," he says.

"However, there were no injuries, and the road was not blocked."


Reports are coming in of two separate crashes in Tauranga and Te Puke.

A truck and car are reported to have crash on Hewletts Road, near Jean Batten Drive.

Details are limited, but a caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline believes there may be traffic delays as emergency sevices deal with the crash.

Another crash is being reported in Te Puke.

A caller to SunLive says a car had crashed into two parked cars on Queen Street. Police have been called.
