Winter is definitely here and it's time to get your woollies out.

Today is a three-clothing and one-windproof layer day with a high of 15 and and overnight low of 5 degrees expected.

Sunset tonight is at 5pm but there's plenty of sun today along with a southwesterly.

Today is the day to go treat yourself to a burger. To find out why check out our 'This day in NZ history' on our sunrise video.

Have a great day!
